No problem. I understand how stories can get twisted
around. That 30-40 yr. old guy was probably my cousin Matt.
I'm not sure how he heard the story, but the one I told you
was right from my father's mouth.

I have a question for you. My father also owned a 1948
Indian motorcylce (in better condition than the Henderson),
which my brother-in-law is keeping. Do you know of any
good/reliable resource where I can get information on this
Indian? Specifically, I'm looking for approximate value and
restoration tips.

Thanks!

Kelly, I apologize for passing on inaccurate information
regarding the auction but those were the details I got from
a conversation with the owner. He confirmed to me as well
as another Henderson owner that he had paid $30,000.00. I
stand corrected that it was $29,000.00. As Henderson owners,
e were answering his questions as well as passing on
restoration information. Further, as the three of us were
talking, another man in his late 30's or early 40's came up
to congratulate the owner and then told us that he was a
member of the family. He told us the story about the bike
as I repeated but again some of his details must have been
wrong. I am always reluctant to pass on information that is
heresay for this very reason, but since there were so many
questions about the auction on the message board, I tried to
epeat what I had personally been told that day.
