Thought some of you might be interested in how the KJ gearbox job is progressing.

After getting the sump off I found a good deal of swarf jamming the bevel gears so as I suspected that was where the problem lay. The sliding gear and second on the cluster had chipped and worn teeth on their mating edges.

The decision was made to go ahead and replace all the wearing parts. Between Tom Fickau and Mark Hill we'll have essentially a new gearbox. Should be good for another 90+ years!

Mark also is supplying a set of rockers and pivots with new pushrods and adjusters coming from Tom. The engine had been rebuilt not too many miles ago so the rest should be good to go.
