BTW, I forgot to mention that Haverford Cycle Co. had a branch in Norfolk from
around 1914 on. Haverford, owned by Max Sladkin, was a major cycle retailer with
headquarters in Philadelphia. They had branches in many cities in the East and
Midwest and were both dealers and distributors for Excelsior and, later,
Henderson. Sladkin was instrumental in Excelsior’s purchase of Henderson and
later president of Ace.
