Thanks to Mark and Clyde in NY and TX, I now have a 20s
fairly complete Henderson factory cut-off engine for my
mock-up airplane/motorcycle display. Thanks guys for
letting it go.

Mike Wolfe's Shop (antique Archeology) in Iowa had one on
display and for sale last September. If I remember, it
actually had "Heath" stamped jugs, so guessing it was a
higher-priced kit back in the day. Should be easy to
give them a call and see if its still there and
available.

Thank you for your messages. I appreciate you guys
firing back so quickly. With regard to the engine that is
mint ready-to-go - that one will surely bust my budget.
However, I am following up with the Museum in Bethel -
sounds crazy and expensive to be buying something from a
museum, but who knows - I will find out.

The Golden Age Air Museum in Bethel, Pennsylvania has a
bunch of Henderson aircraft engines. I was there last
July
and they had three on display of various configurations
however I believe they have more engines piled up in
storage. https://www.goldenageair.org/

Fred Johansen in San Francisco has for sale a mint ready
to
run Heath
Henderson with the prop. It also has desirable Ricardo
cylinders! Maybe too
nice for your intentions.

I am brand new to your KJ Exchange and have learned a lot
about you, by
reading some of your posts. You folks are passionate.
For
display purposes, I
am searching for a Henderson engine that was converted
back-
in-the-day for
use in a Heathkit home-built airplane. I realize I am
talking to motorcycle
enthusiasts who would NOT alter a Henderson motorcycle
engine to build an
airplane. The fact is, this practice was very much part
of
Henderson's history, like
it or not. I like both early aviation and early
motorcycles.
I ride a 48 Indian Big
Chief but one day want to enjoy a KJ for the same reasons
you all have them.

So, to re-cap my request - I am searching for a crusty,
left-for-dead, Heath
conversion Henderson engine that is not likely to ever
run
again (certainly not in
a motorcycle), for historical display purposes. I don't
expect to find one with all
the run-able accessories, but a stripped-down version
from
the teens, would be
ideal.
