i have never bothered with mine and ridden in the snow
before. what i did do is drill some holes on the inside of
the inlet manifold so the gas air mix didn't have to travel
as far to get there. if you work out the distance from the
carb to the rear cylinder it's a long way there, think it
was about 3/8th hole for rear cy and 5/16th for the next.
never had trouble with oiling either.
