See post 2862 and 2878 I sent my brakes to Friction materials. They did a great job and fast turn around ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Hi Rich, I have a local brake shop here in my town that uses what I believe is similar "woven" material that has strands of brass (I believe) in it so it looks pretty correct. I used it on my 2012 Cannonball Henderson and it worked very well and I did not wear it out. It is riveted to the external bands. It cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of $50. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- I am working on a 1924 Deluxe with the external brake band and the internal brake band. I need to reline each one. What are people's experience with linings and rivet vs bonded. Does anyone have any recommendation on anyone they trust to do the work. I want the bike to look correct when I am done but I plan to ride the bike a lot so I am considering I might compromise here to have a better brake that might not look 100% correct. The picture is my rear brake with both bands ready to be banded Thanks |
