I believe you are correct Perry. Rat Scherk confirmed in his HD lit that receive only appeared in 1932 (receive only).Ford did not even offer a factory civilian radio in their cars until 1933.

I KJs predate police radio use on motorcycles. Definitely the Splitdorf generator couldn't have supported one. The Autolite might have been able to in 31 but its output was dialed back to be similar to a Splitdorf! As far as I know Harley first offered police radios (receivers only, transmitters took too much juice) in 1932 ... Perry
