I am not going to respond to you trying to put words into print that I did not. this is a discussion which is none your concern. Steve do you own one? have you worked on one? are you as most very intrested in any information that was from this ride? I will state you are wrong and it dose make you look very bad Steve. you do not know what you are talking about it is very sad to see you very unhappy. I wish we could please you but I really think you need to say that you are wrong and made a mistake on this. good luck.

Pat, bottom line is that Jim has two running, riding Militaires, both of which have been seen publicly. I hope you enjoy yours privately. Jim has ridden his badly running Militaire across the country. Saying it ran badly seems to me like you are making an indictment of Mark. If you ever do the the same, I'll kiss your butt in Times Square and will enjoy seeing what a properly running (and all original Militaire) looks and sounds like.

Since you brought Jim's name up, please know that there are plenty of us who have his back. Jim has been a great credit to this hobby. He has helped plenty of people and has really stuck his neck out for some of them. If you've been burned by a some Militaire people, I'm sorry but there can't be more than ten people in the world seriously playing with them. Sounds like a "club" that I wouldn't want to be associated with.

The purpose of this web site is try to help folks. Your criticism of a couple of guys who have accomplished something that most of us wish we could do has really agitated me.

When did you sell me Hen parts?

You also may want to use a spell check and English grammar program.

I think Mark is a very fine mechanic and hope this discussion is not about that. the discussion is a simple one. Do militaires preform well on long distance ? yes and to answer the question yes we do ride them. I as well as one I am working on now will get ridden so to say they do not that is false I personnaly never take anything to shows or on very many rides as I do not like riding with others. our disccusion was on how to make one run very well. Dennie's was not running well It was a simple problem that one of the lead mechanics asked me about and I told him he was correct. I think that Russel,Mark and a few others work out there I have seen is impeckable and very clean. however when it comes to the militaire a few of us have figured them out to make them run very well. I have several in my garage at the moment and they will run pefrfect I did hear Dennie's myself it sounded terrible sorry for that statement but it did. I do think many of the other fours sounded better than any I have ever heard and that thanks to the great work of Mark they made the long voyage accross the states. I do Opologise if there was any missunderstanding about the guys mentioned. On the club it is a figure of speech a simple one that I can only assume needs to be spelled out. I wanted a discuusion with mark and Invited open discussion between us as I do not have his number I thought we would talk about the motors and the bikes I thought and do think he is an enthusiest. I have spent allot of time and energy on the bikes and would like his input as well as give him ours the few guys that have rebuilt and ridden them. Steve I do not know why you are so angry and so many people have a problem with this. I do not care for Dennie there are others that do not as well. none of your buisness on that one as it is between us only. now back to Mark I think he dose great work and wanted to open a phone conversation with him. pretty simple. This thread started with a joke from Mark and many have had fun as I have I think you need to not take this very serious. And yes you have gotten Henderson parts from me Steve.I have sold all my bikes that do not run Steve I am not a collector of junk anymore I love the old hendersons and have owned many and still do I saw one in a pile yesterday. My 17 might not be as orriginal as yours but it is still a 17. I unfortunatly do not own a KJ anymore as I traded for Militore parts. but they will always remain one of my favoite fours.Dennie's parts to build his repo bikes came from my pile. so there steve.

I'm posting this at 0712 EDST sober. Pat, the man Mark worked with has TWO RESTORED RUNNING RIDING MILITAIRES, one of which he rode clear across the country. He should be the PRESIDENT of your "club". I suspect the members of your "club", if they have a running one, probably barely take them around a fairgrounds. I'm sure most of them spend most of their time dreaming about their piles of rubble and jerking off. I'm not sure you should speak for Richard either. He worked closely with the man in question and has helped many other guys, including me, with other bike projects.

I hope you and your club buddies never need Hen parts 'cause you all can KMA.

I would talk with you but not to help who you were helping. sorry give me a call or call Richard. the Militaire group is tight and we seem to be like Indian owners and do not share at all. I have always helped with many parts however I have been ripped pretty hard over the last couple of years. It all seems people care about is the dollar so no help is the way for us to go. I did talk with one guy on the run that thought the same as I did and he kept very quite on that machine. He asked a couple of days ago what I thought and his answer was the same as mine.
