I'm curious why you would associate the special fender pivot nut with a luggage rack application only. Can you share a source for that? I have seen single long bolts but assumed that was due to guys not having the special nut. Is there a long bolt called out in the manual for that? I don't recall my parts manual (which I lent out and never got back) making mention of it being a "luggage rack" fender pivot nut. The fender pivot point seems to be for assistance in tire changing, with or without a luggage rack. That would be my assumption. As for obtaining one, I think I've seen Easy Russ put them out from time to time. The late Jay Zanetti used to make them out of stainless. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- The threaded coupling was only used with a rear luggage rack. If you don't have a luggage rack on your bike the rear fender is mounted with a single long bolt ... Perry |
