Thanks for the info.

Florian,
The DLX 68 defiantly “fits the bill” in that is has the screw hole mounts for the disk air intake as opposed to my DLX 25 (off a ’26 ACE) that has the insert type of interchangeable air intakes. (see attached pic)

SuperX A 7109 is (an most likely was originally) equipped with a Schebler DLX 68 carb.

Good question Kevin - this is an area that needs a lot more research. Here's my data point. My 31 Super X sports a DLX58. That's a 1 1/4 carb as my bike has (at least) the Super Sport intake and top end stuff on it. Although I have a paper trail with the bike back into the 30's when it was sold new in New Mexico, I have no idea whether it was sold new with the Sport Sport stuff on it (it doesn't have a serial number that starts with XS so probably not). Likewise I have no idea if that really is the correct carb for a streamline'ed Super Sport nor do I know what is the correct carb for it's more plebeian brethren. As I said more research is required on known original bikes. Finally, this question has come up before. Look back in the archives at messages 1500 and 1264-1267 for other people's data points (basically we're all over the board) ... Perry

The '25-'28 parts book lists carburetor on the Super X as part # P4 9039 which equates to a DLX 27 13/16 venturi
(according to http://www.indianmotorbikes.com/resources/carbs/index.htm
page)
This model (DLX 27) as pictured in the '28 parts book has the bell shaped air intake. On the other hand looking at the 'The new streamline Henderson and Super X' sales pamphlet... the Super X photos show the round disk shaped air intake.

Apparently the ’29 Super X parts list show the same part number for the carb. P4 9039 but they sure don’t look the same.
Any one know what the correct carburetor is for the Streamline Super X ?
How about the Super Sport?
